Not. Fair. Mom made me be nice to the old lady cat even when said cat was in MY SPOT. It is absolute irrelevant that the cat was there before me today, or that she was obnoxiously polite and willing to share when I sat down. Mom was MY Mom first, therefore *I* have permanent first dibs on prime couch real estate. Obviously.
(Plus the cat is scary – she has knives in her feet!! Who would want to snuggle with THAT??)
